Owen Westerlund was diagnosed with HLHS (Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome) when his mother Jami was 20 weeks pregnant.  At 2 days old, Owen underwent the first of his three open heart surgeries.

1 out of 100 newborns are born with a Congenital Heart Defect (CHD).  Owen and our son Brady will forever be intertwined because of the link they have - not only as CHD patients but also as stories of strength and perseverance.  At The EKG Shop, we want to showcase these endearing and inspirational beings and spread awareness about CHDs.

This shirt was designed with the collaboration of Matt, Jami, Owen and George Westerlund.  Their bond, their love and their strength shine bright and we are overly blessed to be able to share their journey - and become a part of it as well.

For every shirt sold, we will donate 100% of the profits to the Westerlunds.  This campaign will run for an entire month, but that doesn't mean the story ends there.  Although the road is long and unsure for every CHD child, the journey is an empowering story that is meant for the world to hear.
